          John H. L'Estrange, Jr. is one of the founding members of Wright & L'Estrange. After serving a one year clerkship for federal judge J. Clifford Wallace he has practiced in San Diego since 1971, specializing in complex business litigation. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in California, the Ninth Circuit, the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

          Mr. L'Estrange has tried businesses cases in state and federal courts, including a two-year long antitrust jury trial in the San Diego County Superior Court. He also has served as an arbitrator and as an advocate in numerous arbitration proceedings before the American Arbitration Association and the National Association of Securities Dealers (FINRA) He is a member of the commercial and complex case panel for the American Arbitration Association.

          He is the co-author of a book on attorney fee agreements and is the author or co-author of several published articles, including "The Participation of Unlicensed Advocates in California in the Resolution of Disputes Between Investors and Stockbrokers", California Western Law Review, Vol. 321, No. 1 (Fall, 1994) and "Use of Offers to Compromise in Contractual Arbitration", California Litigation, Vol. 20, No. 3 (Fall 2007).

          Mr. L'Estrange is a master in the American Inns of Court, William B. Enright Chapter. He was in Best Lawyers in American in 2007 and 2008 (commercial litigation); and was named one of the Best Lawyers in San Diego by San Diego Magazine (1996, 2007 and 2008). He is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

          He received his undergraduate degree in finance and economics and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame; and served as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1964-1967.
